Office Policies

Our main Knoxville office is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. We have several satellite office locations for your convenience. Please use our main office phone number for appointments, and direct all correspondence and payments to our main Knoxville address.

If you have had recent x-rays, lab tests, colonoscopy, or pathology that will impact your evaluation or treatment recommendations, please arrange to to collect these (will need actual x-ray films or computer disc) from the diagnostic center or hospital prior to your visit. This will ensure that our surgeons can give accurate and immediate recommendations.

Cancellations

Effective 01/01/2024, if you no show more than 3 consecutive times for your appointment, you will be dismissed from the practice. If you cancel/reschedule without a 2 day notice more than 3 consecutive times, you will receive a warning letter for dismissal from the practice.

We do not charge our patients for missed appointments unlike other clinics. We hope that you understand this and whenever you can’t make it to a scheduled appointment, call us at your earliest convenience to cancel. Last-minute cancellations without any notice, result in time slots that can’t be used to serve other patients.

Emergencies

If you experience a life threatening emergercy, call 911 or immediately go to the nearest Emergency Department. Our office provides on-call service for urgent conditions, 24 hours-a-day, 7 days-a-week. Call (865) 392-9220 and leave a concise message with the time, date, and a return phone number. Our providers will return your call. Prescription refills, general nursing questions, billing questions and appointment changes/requests are not considered urgent conditions.

Health Insurance Plans

Our office participates with most health insurance plans including Medicare.  Patients are responsible for deductibles, co-payments and remaining balances.
